I am one of many Pd developers. I think that the visual, real-time, always-running nature of Pd is very accessible. Plus it is a general platform for working with media of all types. This is makes it a great platform to use when building NIMEs. So almost all of my work in this field uses Pd as the programming language. But the concepts are not limited to Pd, but hopefully can be broadly applied.
